Why Can't I See My Likes on Twitter?

Why can't I see my likes on Twitter is usually a location problem rather than a deletion. Your own Likes tab still exists after X made likes private — it is just not always where it used to be.

There is a specific reason this question arrived all at once rather than gradually, and it is worth naming because it tells you this is a product change and not your account misbehaving.

So if you are looking for a setting you turned off by accident, there probably isn't one. The tab moved, or it is behind a different path in the build you are on.
The other half of the confusion is the asymmetry itself. People know something happened to likes, they cannot find their own, and they reasonably conclude likes were removed entirely. They were not. Your likes are recorded, your list is complete, and you are the only person who can read it — which is a stranger state than either likes being public or likes being gone, and it is the one you are in.
Where to look
Start on the web rather than the app. The desktop site has been the more stable route throughout, and if the list is reachable anywhere for your account it is generally reachable there.
On your own profile, look for the tabs across the top — posts, replies, media, likes. If likes is not among them, check any overflow or menu control at the end of that row, since narrow layouts collapse tabs into a menu.
In the app, the tab has appeared both on the profile and behind the account menu depending on the version. Update the app before concluding it is gone, because a stale build is the most common explanation and costs nothing to rule out.
What you are actually looking for
Your own list of liked posts, in reverse chronological order, the same object it always was.
It is not a search interface. There is no way to search within your likes for a keyword, which is the single most requested thing here and the reason people use likes as a bookmarking system and then cannot find anything.
If what you want is to find one specific post you liked months ago, the honest answer is that scrolling is the mechanism. For anything you intend to retrieve later, bookmarks are the feature designed for it — they are private, they were always private, and they are searchable in a way likes are not.
Nobody else can see this
Worth restating because it changes how you should treat the list. Your likes are visible to you, and to the author of each post you liked, and to nobody else.
There is no Likes tab on a stranger's profile any more. You cannot check what someone else liked, and they cannot check yours.
This means the old habit of curating your likes — unliking things you would not want associated with you — no longer does what it did. The audience for that curation was the general public and that audience no longer exists. The one person who can still see a given like is the person whose post it was, and unliking removes it from their view too, though the notification they received at the time already happened.
If the tab really is not there
A few causes are worth ruling out in order.
The build you are on. Update, or switch to the web, which is the more reliable surface.
A restricted or limited account state, which can change what parts of the interface are available to you. X reports account status in settings, and that is worth checking if several things are missing rather than one.
And a genuine rollout difference — features arrive for different accounts at different times, and a tab present for someone else and absent for you is not necessarily a fault.
What is not a cause: a privacy setting you toggled. There is no per-account control over your own Likes tab, because the change applied to everyone at once.
Likes as a bookmarking habit
A lot of people used likes to save things, and this change is a good moment to stop, because the feature was never built for it and has now become worse at it.
Bookmarks are the alternative: private by design, organised into folders, and searchable. Everything people wanted from likes-as-saving is there and none of the ambiguity is.
The other argument for switching is that a like is still a signal to the platform about what to show you. Liking something to save it teaches your feed that you want more of it, which is fine when you meant it and counterproductive when you were filing something to read later.
What is left in public
The count on each post, and nothing else about likes.
Since the list behind it is closed to readers, that number is now the only thing anyone can read about approval on a post — and it is less inspectable than it was, while being no less prominent.
That is the practical situation for anyone posting on X. Reposts and quotes are the endorsements a reader can examine; the like count is a figure they take at face value because there is nothing behind it they are allowed to open. You can add likes to a public post with that in mind: it changes the one number readers can see, in a system that stopped letting them see anything else.
