Members on a subreddit or followers on a Reddit profile, ordered against the public r/ or u/ link.
Before you choose
Reddit sorts a subreddit's front page largely by score against time, so a post that gains votes early keeps climbing and a post that does not sinks below where anyone scrolls. The window is short, usually the first hour or two, and it is the reason timing matters more here than almost anywhere else in this catalogue.
Upvotes are ordered against a single post link. They do not move your account's karma directly in any way you can rely on, and they do not carry to your other posts. One post, one order.
Subscribers are a different object entirely, ordered against an r/ link for a subreddit or a u/ link for a Reddit profile. That number is what a visitor reads when deciding whether a community is worth joining, and unlike upvotes it stays.
Two things are worth stating honestly. Reddit communities are moderated by people who spend a great deal of time reading their own subreddit, and a post whose score does not match its comments is noticed. And each subreddit has its own rules about self-promotion that no service can satisfy on your behalf.
