A connection only exists once both sides agree. What reaches your profile is an invitation, and you accept it yourself, from your own account, in the invitations list - nothing here goes inside the account to click for you. Do LinkedIn connection requests expire?
Pending invitations do not sit there forever. LinkedIn clears out old ones after several months, and if you withdraw an invitation yourself there is a waiting period before you can send it to that person again. Invitations arriving at your profile are not touched by either rule - you accept them whenever you next open the list.
How do I see pending connection requests on LinkedIn?
Open My Network and look at Invitations. The received tab lists everyone waiting on you; the sent tab lists the ones you are waiting on. LinkedIn trims the first screen, so click through to show all of them before you decide anything.
Are connections different from followers on LinkedIn?
Yes. A connection is mutual and both sides see it; a follower is one-way and needs no approval. Every connection also follows you by default, which is why the follower number is usually the bigger of the two. The one-way count is ordered on LinkedIn followers.
Can I remove a LinkedIn connection later?
