How to See How Many Views a Pinterest Post Has

Pinterest keeps two view numbers in two places, and neither is a list of people. One is per Pin, the other is the big figure on a profile, and the second is the one most often misread.

Updated September 2026

How to see how many views a Pinterest post has: open the Pin while signed in to the business account that published it and check its stats, which show impressions, saves, Pin clicks and outbound clicks. Pinterest Analytics shows the same over time. Business accounts are free to switch to, and personal accounts don't get these numbers.

What Pinterest calls a view on a Pin is an impression, which its analytics define as the number of times your Pins or ads were on screen. It is not a count of people, and it doesn't tell you who saw the Pin: Pinterest shows no list of viewers to anyone, for Pins or for profiles, as of September 2026. The large monthly views figure some profiles display is a different number again, a 30-day total of displays across the account's Pins.

The part most guides skip

Monthly views on Pinterest is a figure shown on some profiles that totals how many times Pins connected to that account appeared on people's screens in the last 30 days. It sounds like profile visits. It isn't.

The difference explains the most common confusion about Pinterest numbers. A profile with a few hundred followers can show hundreds of thousands of monthly views, because the number counts every time any of its Pins scrolled onto anyone's screen, including Pins other people saved to their own boards, which keep appearing in feeds and searches long after the original post. Pinterest is a search and discovery engine as much as a social network, so a single useful Pin can be displayed to many people who never look at the account that made it.

It also means the figure says little about engagement. An appearance on screen is not a click, a save or a follow. A profile with a large monthly views number and few followers is one whose Pins are being displayed widely but not acted on, and the numbers that show action, such as saves, reactions and clicks, live elsewhere. Those are the part of a Pin that visitors can see and respond to, and they're what Pinterest likes add to on a public Pin.

How to see views on a Pinterest Pin

With a business account, on the app or the website:

  • Open the Pin you published, while signed in to that account.
  • Look below the image for the Pin's stats, or tap See more stats where it's offered.
  • Read impressions, which is Pinterest's view count, next to saves, Pin clicks and outbound clicks.
  • For trends, open Analytics from the menu, choose a date range and filter by Pin format or source.

What if you don't have a business account?

Personal accounts don't get Pinterest Analytics. Converting to a business account, or adding a linked business profile, is free, keeps your Pins and followers, and makes the stats available. The numbers start from what Pinterest has recorded for the account, so you can see recent performance straight away.

Can you see how many views someone else's Pin has?

No. Impressions are private to the Pin's owner. A visitor can see what the owner can't hide: the reaction count on a Pin, the comments, and the profile's follower count. That public layer is the only information a stranger has when deciding whether a Pin is worth saving.

Does Pinterest have profile views?

Not in the sense most people mean. Pinterest doesn't count or display visits to a profile page, and it doesn't send notifications when someone opens your profile. The number that looks like profile views, monthly views, measures appearances of your Pins across the whole platform in the last 30 days, not visits to your profile.

Not every profile displays that figure, and its presence has varied between account types and over time. If you see it on your own profile and it seems enormous, that's normal for an account with Pins that show up in search. If it drops, the likely cause is that fewer of your Pins are being shown in feeds and search, often because older Pins have aged out of what Pinterest is surfacing.

Can you see who views your Pinterest?

No, and nobody else can see that you viewed theirs. Pinterest doesn't provide a list of people who viewed a Pin or a profile, to regular accounts or business accounts. Analytics give totals and aggregate audience information, such as broad interests and locations, never individual names.

The interactions that do identify someone are the ones they make publicly: following you, saving your Pin to a board you can see, reacting or commenting. Those show up in your notifications. Viewing doesn't.

Can people on Pinterest see who viewed their pins?

No. The owner of a Pin sees how many times it appeared on screen, not who was looking. Apps or sites that claim to reveal Pinterest viewers can't get that data from Pinterest, because Pinterest doesn't provide it, and asking for your Pinterest login in exchange is a warning sign, not a feature.

How to see recently viewed on Pinterest

Pinterest keeps a history of Pins you opened, as part of the tool it uses to tune your home feed. In the app, go to your profile, open Settings, then Home feed tuner, and look for the History tab; on the website, open the menu by your profile picture, choose Tune your home feed, and scroll to the Pins you looked at. It lists Pins you tapped into, not ones you scrolled past.

That history is visible only to you. It shapes what Pinterest recommends to you, and removing items from it is one way to change what your home feed shows.

Why a Pin keeps collecting views long after posting

On most social apps, a post gets nearly all of its views in the first day or two and then stops. Pinterest works differently, and it shows in the numbers. A Pin is found through search and through related Pins as well as through feeds, and every time someone saves it to a board, it gains a new place from which it can be displayed. So a Pin's impressions can keep arriving for months, and an old Pin can suddenly climb when its topic becomes seasonal again.

This is also why your monthly views can move without you posting anything. If a batch of older Pins starts showing in search for a trending topic, the 30-day total rises; when the season passes, it falls back. Read a drop in monthly views against the calendar before assuming something is wrong, and check in Analytics which Pins the impressions are coming from. Usually it's a handful of Pins doing most of the work.

Which Pinterest number actually matters?

It depends what you want from Pinterest. For a business sending people to a site, outbound clicks, the number of people who left Pinterest for your link, matters most, and Pinterest website traffic explains why that number and impressions often move in opposite directions. For a creator building an audience, saves and follows matter, because a save puts your Pin on someone else's board, where it keeps appearing.

Impressions and monthly views measure reach. They're useful for spotting which Pins Pinterest is showing and which it has stopped showing. They're weak as proof of interest, because an impression happens whether or not anyone stopped. If you compare Pins, divide actions by impressions so a heavily displayed Pin doesn't win just for being displayed; how to calculate engagement rate sets out the formulas.

Why the public numbers still count

A visitor can't see your impressions or your monthly views. On an individual Pin, what they see is the Pin itself, its reactions and its comments, and on the profile, the follower count. Those public signals do the persuading, the effect described in what social proof is. A Pin that is displayed often but shows no reactions looks overlooked, even if thousands of people scrolled past it.

That is why some accounts add Pinterest likes to Pins that matter, or Pinterest followers to a new profile, so the public layer matches the reach. Those change what visitors read; they don't change what Pinterest records as impressions, which depends on where Pinterest decides to show the Pin. The Pinterest services are listed together on the Pinterest page.
