Does Threads Show Who Viewed Your Profile?

Threads counts the people who look at your profile and your posts. It never tells you who they were. Here is what Insights does show, and why the apps that promise a visitor list can't deliver one.

Can you see who viewed your profile on Threads?

No. Threads keeps no visitor log that you can open, and the app does not send a notification when someone views your profile or a post. Your follower list shows who follows you, and the activity tab shows who liked, replied, reposted, quoted or followed, but a person who only looked leaves no name behind.

This also answers the other direction of the question: can people on Threads see who viewed their profile? They can't. If you open someone's Threads profile, read every post and leave without interacting, they get no signal that it was you. Their Insights will count a view from your visit, blended into the total with everyone else's.

Does Threads tell you who viewed your profile if you're connected on Instagram?

No. Being connected on Instagram doesn't change anything, because Instagram doesn't list profile visitors either. The Instagram features that do show viewers, Stories and Lives, are separate products. Viewing someone's Story on Instagram puts your name on their viewer list; viewing their Threads profile does not. Does Threads have profile views?

Yes, as a count. In Threads Insights, the Views section shows a chart of views over time and a breakdown of where those views happened. The sources Threads lists are the home feed, your profile, search, the activity tab, Instagram and Facebook. The profile line is the closest thing Threads has to a profile-view counter: it tells you how many views of your posts came from people who were on your profile page.

That's a more useful number than it sounds. A rising share of views from your profile means people are arriving at your page and reading down it, usually because a post in the feed made them curious enough to tap your name. A profile that gets visitors but few new follows is a profile that isn't convincing them. The count on the profile header, the number of people who already follow you, is part of that decision, and it's the number Threads followers change for anyone who lands there.

Does Threads show profile views per post?

Per post you get views and interactions, and Threads splits them between followers and non-followers. It also shows how many people followed you after seeing that post. That last figure is the one to watch: it tells you which posts send people to your profile and convince them there.

How do you open Threads Insights?

Insights is available on your own profile, on mobile and on the web. As of September 2026:

• On mobile, go to your profile and tap the insights icon at the top of the screen.
• On the web, open the menu at the bottom left and choose Insights, or go to threads.com/insights while signed in.
• Pick a date range. Threads offers the last 7, 14, 30 or 90 days.
• Tap Views, Interactions or Followers to open each section, then tap a single post to see its own breakdown.

What does Threads Insights show?

Three sections, all counts and none of them lists of viewers:

• Views: total views of your posts in the period, a chart over time, and the sources those views came from, including your profile.
• Interactions: likes, replies, reposts and quotes, with a chart over time. These are the only actions Threads ties to a name, and you can see those names on each post.
• Followers: your follower count over time and, once the account is large enough, demographics such as age range, gender and the top cities and countries of your followers. Threads sets a minimum audience size before demographics appear.

What Insights can't tell you

It can't tell you who viewed anything, whether one person viewed many times, or who visited and chose not to follow. It measures attention in aggregate. If you need to know whether a particular person saw a post, the only honest answer is to ask them, or to see whether they interacted.

Can you see who views your Threads profile with an app?

No. Every app or website that claims to show who viewed your Threads profile is working without data that Meta gives out. Meta's public tools for developers report the same kind of totals that Insights does, not identities of viewers. So these apps either invent a list, often built from the accounts that interact with you most, or they exist to collect something from you.

The warning signs are consistent. They ask you to sign in with your Instagram username and password, to install a profile or browser extension, or to pay before showing results. Giving a third party your login risks the account itself, and Instagram's help center warns against handing your login to third-party apps. The legitimate way to understand your audience is the dashboard Threads already gives you.

Who can see my activity on Threads, then?

The parts of your activity that carry your name: your posts, your replies, your reposts and quotes, which accounts you follow and, on public profiles, who follows you. Likes carry your name, and at minimum the author of the post can see that you liked it. Viewing, scrolling and visiting profiles are not visible to anyone.

What a visitor sees when they open your profile

Since a visit leaves no trace, what matters is what the visitor reads in the few seconds they spend there. On Threads that is your name and bio, your follower count, and your recent posts with their like, reply and repost counts. Nobody sees your view counts but you.

That makes the visible numbers do a lot of work. A thoughtful post with a handful of likes reads differently from the same post with a few hundred, and a profile with very few followers reads as new, whatever the quality of the writing. Some accounts adjust those first impressions with Threads likes on key posts, or with Threads followers on the profile. It's worth being plain about what that does: it changes the numbers a visitor reads, it doesn't add views or readers to your Insights, and it doesn't make anyone who sees the post more likely to reply. Replies still come from posts worth replying to, which is also where Threads comments fit only as a starting point, not a substitute.

For growth you can measure, use Insights the way it's designed: find the posts with the most follows after viewing, look at whether their views came mostly from non-followers, and write more in that direction. The Threads hub collects every Threads service and guide on this site in one place.

How other networks handle profile visitors

Threads isn't unusual here. Instagram and Facebook don't list profile visitors, and X doesn't either. The notable exceptions are LinkedIn, which shows some profile viewers depending on their settings and your plan, and TikTok, which has an optional profile view history that only works when both sides have it switched on.
