Can You See Who Views Your Public Profile on Snapchat?
Snapchat's answer changes with the audience. A Story for friends names every viewer. A public Story names viewers up to a point. Profile visits and Spotlight views arrive as numbers only.
Can you see who views your public profile on Snapchat? No. Snapchat doesn't show a list of people who visited your Public Profile. What you get is Insights: counts of views and viewers on your public Stories and Spotlight posts, follower numbers and, once you pass 200 followers, an age and gender breakdown. Names appear in only one place, the viewer list of a Story.
That list works differently depending on who the Story was for. A Story posted to friends shows each friend who watched it. A public Story also lists viewers, including followers and other Snapchatters, but Snapchat's help center says the list shows up to 200 names, then a number. Spotlight posts show counts only.
Most people assume Snapchat either shows who looked or doesn't. It does both, and the rule depends on which audience the content was posted to.
There are three cases. A Story shared with friends is the private end: Snapchat shows you each friend who watched it, and the list is short enough to be complete for most people. A public Story, posted from a Public Profile to anyone, still has a viewer list; Snapchat's help center says the friends, followers and other Snapchatters who watched are listed under Viewers when you swipe up on the Story. Its help article on Story viewers adds the limit: you'll see up to 200 names, and beyond that, a number without more names. And then there's everything else public: visits to your Public Profile and views on Spotlight. Those arrive as totals in Insights, with demographics when your audience is large enough, and never as names.
So the answer to 'who viewed my profile' is that Snapchat counts visitors without identifying them, while the answer to 'who viewed my Story' is usually yes, up to a limit. Mixing the two up is where most of the confusion comes from.
It also explains which number people outside your account react to. A visitor sees your follower count and, on Spotlight, the view count under the video. Those are the public signals, and they are what Snapchat views change. The Story viewer list, by contrast, is visible only to you.
Can you see who viewed your public profile on Snapchat?
No. Snapchat's Public Profile Insights report aggregate figures, not individuals. According to Snapchat's help article on viewing and understanding analytics, you can see your total followers, how your public Stories and Spotlight posts performed, and an age and gender breakdown of your audience once you have more than 200 followers. None of those screens identify who visited the profile.
That matches how Snapchat treats profile visits elsewhere: there's no visitor log for personal accounts either. If an app or website says it can show you who looked at your Snapchat profile, it isn't using anything Snapchat provides, and giving such a service your login is a good way to lose the account.

How to see who viewed your Snapchat story for friends
Open your Story from your profile and swipe up on a Snap. The eye icon and the list under it show each friend who watched, and a separate icon marks anyone who took a screenshot. For most people, a friends Story stays well under the 200-name limit, so the list is effectively complete.
Why a public Story viewer isn't always listed
Two reasons. The 200-name cap means large Stories show a total without every name. And the list only exists while the Story does: once a Story expires after 24 hours, the viewer list goes with it, while Insights keep the aggregate numbers for public Stories.

Yes. The view count on a Spotlight post is visible to anyone who sees it, which is why it works as social proof: a video with a meaningful count gets watched longer than one showing a handful. That public number is what Snapchat views move. It's worth being clear that a higher count changes what viewers see; it doesn't add favorites or follows, and it can't make the video itself hold attention.
How to view old Snapchat stories
Your own old Stories are recoverable in two ways. If you've enabled saving Stories to Memories, past Stories are there, in the Memories tab reached by swiping up from the camera. On a Public Profile, you can also save Stories to the profile so they stay visible after 24 hours, and the Insights tab groups past public Snaps by 24-hour windows so you can compare how they did.
Other people's old Stories are a different matter. Once a friend's Story expires, you can't reopen it unless they saved it to their Public Profile or posted it again. Viewer lists don't come back either: the names are tied to the Story's 24-hour life.
Which Snapchat numbers are public, and which are private

Why this matters when you grow a Public Profile
Because the two audiences need different things. Friends see your Stories and you see them back, by name. Strangers find you through Spotlight and search and judge you by public numbers: the follower count and the views under your videos. You never learn who they are, so the only feedback is whether the totals move.
That's also why the public counts carry weight with new visitors. A profile with some followers and videos with views reads as active; one with none reads as abandoned, whatever the content. Snapchat followers change the follower number on a Public Profile, and the rest of the catalogue is on the Snapchat services page. Other platforms draw this line in other places, as who viewed your Instagram story shows, so it's worth learning each one's rule rather than assuming they match.
