How to Remove All Liked Videos on YouTube

YouTube keeps every like in a playlist only you can see, and it gives you no button to empty it. Here is the fastest way through, and what each unlike actually changes.

Updated October 2026

How to remove all liked videos on YouTube: there's no delete-all button, so you remove them one at a time. Open the Liked videos playlist from the You tab, tap the three dots next to a video and choose Remove from Liked videos. As of October 2026, that unlikes the video; creators never see who liked it.

On a computer it goes faster, because the playlist page lets you work down the list with the mouse without reopening anything. Likes live in their own playlist, separate from your watch history, so the only way to take one back is to unlike the video.

The part most guides skip

The Liked videos playlist is YouTube's automatic list of every video and Short you've given a thumbs-up, newest first. You don't create it and you can't delete it; it fills itself each time you tap the like button and loses an entry each time you take a like back.

Removing a video from that playlist and unliking the video are the same action seen from two places. Do it from the playlist and the like disappears from the video; unlike it from the video page and it leaves the playlist. YouTube's help page on likes describes removing them one video at a time and offers no bulk option. It also notes a limit worth knowing before you start: the Liked videos playlist displays at most 5,000 videos, so on a very old account the oldest likes may not appear in the list at all.

For creators, those counts are the visible half of a like. Each unlike takes one from the number under the video, which is the figure other viewers read and the one YouTube likes add to. The other half is private: who liked a video is never shown to anyone, the creator included.

Can you delete all liked videos at once?

Not with a YouTube feature, as of October 2026. YouTube's help page on liking videos describes removing a video from Liked videos one at a time, and neither the app, the website nor YouTube Studio has a select-all or clear-all option for likes.

You'll find browser extensions and scripts that promise to do it by clicking through the playlist automatically. They work by acting as you in the browser, so they need full access to your signed-in YouTube session. That's a lot of trust to give an unknown developer for a convenience, and YouTube can change its page layout and break them at any time. The manual route is slower but carries no risk to the account.

One more limit: the playlist shows a maximum of 5,000 videos. If you've liked more than that, you'll clear the visible ones first and older likes may surface as you go.

How to remove liked videos one by one, fastest route

The playlist is the quickest place to work from, because you never leave the list.

  • On a phone: tap You at the bottom right, scroll to Liked videos and open it. Tap the three dots next to a video, then Remove from Liked videos. Repeat down the list.
  • On a computer: click You in the left menu, then Liked videos. Hover over a video, click the three dots and choose Remove from Liked videos.
  • From a video: open it and tap the thumbs-up again so it's no longer highlighted. The video leaves the playlist immediately.

Why some old likes don't show up

The playlist only lists videos that are still available. If a video you liked was deleted or made private by its owner, it can drop out of the list or appear as unavailable, and there's nothing left to unlike.

Can people see your liked videos?

No. YouTube's help center describes the Liked videos playlist as private, and as of October 2026 there's no setting to make it public. Other people visiting your channel can't see it, and neither can the creators whose videos you liked.

This is a change from YouTube's early years, when a liked videos playlist could be public. YouTube's help page on hiding likes records the switch: after a December 5 cut-off, public Liked videos playlists were made private so only the owner can see them. That's why old guides telling you to flip a setting to hide your likes no longer match the app.

What can be public on your channel are playlists you create yourself and your subscriptions, if you've set them to public. Those have their own privacy controls in Settings, under Privacy.

How do you make the liked videos playlist private?

You don't need to: it already is, and it can't be changed. If you open the playlist's settings, you won't find a visibility option for it the way you would for a playlist you made.

If what you want is privacy for something else, these are the controls that exist:

  • Your own playlists: open the playlist and set it to Private or Unlisted.
  • Your subscriptions: in Settings, under Privacy, choose whether your subscriptions are public.
  • Comments: these are public by design on public videos, and how to see your YouTube comments shows where to find and delete them.
  • Watch history: visible only to you, and you can pause or delete it from the History page.

Does unliking change recommendations?

Yes. YouTube's help page on managing recommendations says they are partly based on videos you've liked, and that you can like, dislike and remove liked videos to influence your recommendations and search results. Your watch history usually carries more weight, though, so unliking alone rarely transforms a home feed.

If your goal is a cleaner feed rather than a cleaner list, the tools that work faster are deleting specific videos from watch history (and old searches, which clearing YouTube search history covers), using Not interested and Don't recommend channel on the home page, and pausing history for a while. How to reset the YouTube algorithm puts those in order without wiping everything by mistake.

Does removing a like notify the creator?

Not with your name on it. Creators never learn who liked a video in the first place: YouTube Studio shows counts and the like-to-dislike ratio, not a list of accounts, which who liked your YouTube video explains from the creator's side. With no names attached to a like, there's nothing that could tell a creator you took yours back.

The only change a creator can see is in the numbers. A wave of unlikes would show up as a drop in the video's like count over the days it happened, with no names attached.

Does unliking lower the video's like count?

Yes. The like count under a video is the number of current likes, so every unlike removes one. On a small video that can be visible; on a large one, a single unlike disappears into rounding, since YouTube abbreviates big counts.

That's the trade-off of cleaning up your list: your history gets tidier, and the creators you once liked lose a little of the public figure that tells new viewers a video is worth trying. For creators, that figure matters most early, when there are few others to read. YouTube likes add to it using only the public watch link, never an account login, and they don't change how YouTube recommends the video. Every YouTube service is on the YouTube page.

Questions people ask about liked videos on YouTube

Is there a way to unlike all YouTube videos at once?

Not as a YouTube feature. You remove likes one at a time, from the Liked videos playlist or by tapping the thumbs-up again on each video.

Where is the Liked videos playlist on YouTube?

In the You tab on mobile, or under You in the left menu on a computer. YouTube creates and updates it automatically each time you like a video.

Can other people see the videos I liked on YouTube?

No. The Liked videos playlist is private, and YouTube doesn't offer a setting to make it public. Creators see like counts, not the names of the people who liked.

Does removing a video from Liked videos unlike it?

Yes. Removing a video from the playlist and unliking the video are the same action, so the like disappears from the video's count too.

Why can't I see all my old liked videos?

YouTube's Liked videos playlist displays a maximum of 5,000 videos, and videos that were deleted or made private by their owners can drop out of the list.

Will the creator know I unliked their video?

Not by name. YouTube never shows creators who liked a video, only the total, so an unlike shows up at most as a one-point change in the count.
