How to See Old Spotify Wrapped
The slides are gone for good. The playlists are still in your account, and so is the data they were built from.
The interactive Wrapped from a previous year cannot be reopened. Spotify takes the experience down when the campaign ends and does not archive it per account.
What remains is the playlist it generated, usually named for the year, sitting in your library like any other playlist.
For the underlying numbers, request your data from Spotify's privacy page, which returns your streaming history.
Wrapped is a campaign rather than a feature, and that distinction decides what you can get back.
A feature lives in the product and has a history you can scroll. A campaign is built, published, promoted and retired. Spotify generates the Wrapped experience for a window of weeks and then removes it, including the shareable cards, which is why old links stop working rather than loading an archived version.
Three things outlive it.
The playlist, which is created in your library and behaves like any other: it can be renamed, shared, and kept indefinitely. For most people this is the real archive, and it is why deleting old playlists in a tidy-up is a decision worth making deliberately.
The screenshots people took, which is the only record of the slides themselves.
And your own streaming history, available through a data request, which is raw rather than pretty but contains everything the summary was built from. Extended streaming history covers years and takes longer to arrive than the basic export.
What does not exist is a route back into the old experience, and no third-party site can reconstruct it, because they never had access to the campaign in the first place.
Finding the old playlists
Search your library for the year, or for the Wrapped naming Spotify used that season.
They are ordinary playlists and can be sorted by date added, which groups them neatly.
If a playlist is missing, it was deleted at some point. Spotify keeps recently deleted playlists recoverable for a period through the web account page.
Followed playlists are different from created ones, and the Wrapped playlists are created, so they are yours.
Requesting your data
The privacy settings on Spotify's account page offer a data download.
The basic package covers the last year and arrives faster. Extended streaming history covers everything and takes considerably longer.
The files are JSON, which is readable with any spreadsheet tool after conversion, and contain timestamps and track names.
This is the only route to the raw listening that Wrapped summarized.
Statistics outside Wrapped
The app's top artists and top tracks, with short, medium and long-term ranges, work all year.
Third-party services built on Spotify's API produce continuous statistics and can show years of history once connected, though only from the point they started tracking.
Some of them replicate the Wrapped format, which is as close as a past year gets.
All of them require granting access to your account, which is worth considering before connecting one.
For artists
Spotify for Artists keeps historical data and does not retire it after a campaign.
Streams, listeners, playlist adds and sources are available across years.
The artist-facing year-end summary is also a campaign, but the underlying dashboard persists.
That makes the artist side the one place where last year's numbers are genuinely retrievable.
Keeping the next one
Screenshot the slides when the experience is live. There is no other way to keep them.
Rename the generated playlist to something you will recognize in five years.
Request your data once a year if you care about the history, since the export covers a limited period by default.
And if you use a third-party tracker, connect it early in the year rather than in December, because it only sees what it watched.
Questions people ask about past Wrapped years
Can I open last year's Spotify Wrapped?
No. The experience is removed when the campaign ends and is not archived per account.
Where are my old Wrapped playlists?
In your library, named for the year. They behave like any other playlist you created.
Can I get the data behind an old Wrapped?
Yes, through a data request in Spotify's privacy settings. Extended streaming history covers years and takes longer to arrive.
Do third-party sites keep old Wrapped?
No. They can show statistics from the point they started tracking your account, which is not the same as recovering a past Wrapped.
I deleted the playlist. Can I get it back?
Recently deleted playlists can be restored for a period from the web account page. After that, no.
Do artists keep their yearly numbers?
Yes. Spotify for Artists keeps historical data across years, unlike the listener-facing campaign.
